Stink Bug Pest Control

Originally found in East Asia, stink bugs were not even reported in the United States until the late 1990s! They get their name from an unpleasant odor released when you crush them or when they are protecting their homes.

Stink bugs do not hurt humans, but they can cause a lot of damage to crops and plants.

Earwig Pest Control

Nobody wants earwigs in the house (or any other bug, really), but again, earwigs are more of a nuisance.Still, if earwigs move into a house (possibly seeking moisture), they may hide in cabinets, under rugs, behind baseboards, and generally in and around tight spaces.

Rat Pest Control

These rats are known for the damage they cause by chewing on materials, urinating on food, and eating stored foods. They have also been known to chew on wires, which can cause fires to start. They also carry disease and ectoparasites. Rats will also attack both animals and humans. Human babies and even adults have been killed in rat attacks.

Gopher Pest Control

Gophers can be responsible for ruining lawns, killing trees, and destroying gardens, but they can also be an important part of the local ecosystem. They increase soil fertility by mixing plant material and fecal wastes into the soil. Their burrowing aerates or tills the soil. They can help speed up the formation of new soil by bringing minerals to the surface and they also serve as food for a variety of animals including owls, coyotes, weasels, and snakes.

Ants Pest Control

Although ants are frustrating when they get into your home or when you’re having a picnic, ants do help the environment. They are social insects, which means they live in large colonies or groups. Depending on the species, ant colonies can consist of millions of ants.

There are three kinds of ants in a colony: The queen, the female workers, and the males. The queen and the males have wings, while the workers don’t have wings. The queen is the only ant that can lay eggs. The male ant’s job is to mate with future queen ants and they do not live very long afterward. Once the queen grows to adulthood, she spends the rest of her life laying eggs! Depending on the species, a colony may have one queen or many queens.

Ant colonies also have soldier ants that protect the queen, defend the colony, gather or kill food, and attack enemy colonies in search of food and nesting space. If they defeat another ant colony, they take away eggs of the defeated ant colony. When the eggs hatch, the new ants become the “slave” ants for the colony. Some jobs of the colony include taking care of the eggs and babies, gathering food for the colony, and building the anthills or mounds.

Spider Pest Control

There are about 3,000 species of spiders roaming around North America, but only two in the southern and western United States can cause serious harm when accidentally disturbed — the black widow and brown recluse.

Fleas & Biting Pests Control

Fleas transport themselves on rodents and other mammals and usually remain on their hosts at all times. The most common species is the cat flea, which often feasts on cats, dogs, and humans.

Fleas do not fly. Instead, they jump from one place to another. In fact, fleas can jump as high as 8” vertically, which is 150 times their own height. If we could do this, we would be able to leap over skyscrapers!

Scorpion Control

We deliver expert scorpion pest solutions with responsible and effective treatments with the safety of your family and pets in mind. Scorpions are survival machines, so regular pest control is necessary to keep then under control. Scientists have collected hundreds of scorpions and run hundreds of tests to discover which specialized products actually kill & control scorpions themselves, not just the bugs they eat!

Cockroaches Pest Control

Cockroaches have been around for millions of years, evolving into some of the most adaptable pests on Earth. There are approximately 4,000 living species of cockroaches in the world. About 70 of these species are found in the United States.

Cockroaches are commonly found in buildings and homes because they prefer warm environments close to food and water. Unfortunately, cockroaches can cause allergies and trigger asthma attacks, especially in children. They can also spread nearly 33 different kinds of bacteria.

Bed bug Treatment & Control

Bed bugs feed on the blood of humans and animals using a long beak to poke through the skin. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but their bites can create an itchy welt. If you have bed bugs, the best way to keep them from biting is to call AmTex Pest Solutions to help you get rid of them.

What do Bed Bugs Look Like?
Bed bugs are typically brown and flat and about the size of a small ladybug. They plump up when feeding. Bed bugs don’t fly but they can quickly scurry over furniture, walls, ceilings, floors, and other surfaces.
Bed bugs are usually brought into the home on clothing, luggage, and used beds and other furniture. If you buy used clothing or used furniture, it’s important to check for bed bugs before you bring these items into your home. It’s also a good idea to wash the clothes as soon as you get them home.
Hotels, motels, and apartments are common places to encounter bed bugs because of the high volume of people that come and go from these places. When you are staying at a hotel or motel, it’s a good idea to check between the mattress and box spring for any sign of bed bugs and to keep your luggage off the floor.
An easy way to spot bed bugs is by looking for dark spotting and staining on the mattress caused by their droppings. It’s also possible to find bed bug eggs, egg shells, molted skins, and the bugs themselves.
